Waversa, in pursuit of the ultimate digital source, recognised that significant distortion in the digital signal is caused by EMI (electromagnetic interference), RFI (radio frequency interference), and impulse noise.
After extensive research, Waversa developed an Isolator technology, which is currently patent pending. Initially, this technology was implemented in an in-line isolator device. However, it has now been miniaturised and directly mounted onto the circuit board of the WCDT.
All Waversa products are built with high-quality aluminium chassis skilfully produced by an expensive CNC process. The chassis features individual segments for each module, providing protection from external noise and harmful vibration, thereby maximising audio performance.
WCDT features simultaneous S/PDIF, Coaxial, Optical outputs, as well as a 2-word Clock input to establish a stable clock domain.
However, for perfect sound implementation with other Waversa devices, WNDR (Waversa Network Direct Renderer) streaming is also featured, maximising the power of the WAP processor and the bandwidth offered by this.
Digital audio sources are distorted through the quantisation process, and this distortion affects high-end audio sound quality.
Waversa’s proprietary WAP technology eliminates errors on digital audio sources and recovers the original audio waveform.
With the WAP Processor operating at 32 bits, Waversa products produce a more accurate representation of the music signal, and when Waversa devices are connected through WNDR, this effect is multiplied through each step of the signal path.
Not only are digital audio sources distorted through the quantisation process, but the harmonic component is also greatly reduced.
WAP/X technology recovers harmonic components for the 2nd, 4th, and 8th order. As the WAP processor operates at 32 bits,
Waversa is able to extend the harmonic frequency range way into the ultrasonic region to produce vital information key to the ear for natural timbre and soundstaging, which is greatly enhanced.
Featuring Waversa’s proprietary WLPS (Waversa Linear Power Supply) technology, a large transformer-based linear power supply generates clean power.
Equally importantly, the modular CNC’d high-quality aluminium chassis protects the device from stray EMI and RFI energy, as well as harmful vibration. It supports 100 ~ 240 AC voltage input.
WCDT features a 2.5-inch SSD/HDD slot for storage of ripped audio. Any new disc will be automatically ripped into the storage through a bit-for-bit perfect process, utilizing multiple reads for accuracy.
During playback, the data is transferred from the storage to RAM, ensuring noiseless access for the highest quality audio playback.
