Alastair Gardner founded Signals in 1993, and it has become one of the most respected names in UK specialist audio retail. Since spring 2017 the business has been based at St Cecilia’s House, a sympathetically converted former Catholic church in Trimley St Mary, Suffolk. It has two comfortable, domestic-scale listening rooms and a third, much larger space for more ambitious systems.
The small team brings together decades of experience. Andy Heavens is an expert at setting up turntables, Kevin Fulcher knows loudspeaker design and repair inside out, and Bill Coliadis, the newest arrival, brings custom installation and home cinema expertise.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is anything but. Signals builds systems that capture the drama and spirit of music, backed by old-fashioned care and support. Visits are by appointment, and the building is fully accessible with on-site parking.
