Why Accreditation? The Thinking Behind the Airt Accredited Partners Programme
Because a dealer should be worth visiting.
At Airt Audio, the Accredited Partners Programme exists for one reason: we believe a specialist hi-fi dealer should offer something you genuinely cannot get anywhere else. Not just a showroom with products in it. Real knowledge, real expertise, and a measurable improvement in what you hear at home.
As Fraser Robertson explains, the problem he set out to solve was simple:
“A dealer should really be somewhere where you go to gain knowledge and professional experience. It shouldn’t just be a repository for your money or just to buy product.”
Relationships matter. People buy from people, but liking your dealer isn’t enough on its own:
“Importantly, you need to have the confidence that they really are giving you value. Otherwise, everyone would just be buying off the internet based on reviews… in our specialist area, we need to be offering way more. We talk the talk about being specialist and high end, but obviously we need to deliver.”
A Lost Art
Synergy has always mattered in hi-fi. However it often feels like technology is driving our industry rather than the craft and skill of building a synergistic system.
“System synergy is nothing new in the hi-fi industry. It’s always been there. However, the art of putting system synergy together, and the art of putting combinations together to make them work, seems to have been lost, or there’s seemingly less emphasis on that aspect.”
That art starts not with a product, but with listening to the customer:
“A good dealer will always be able to put a really great system together based upon the demands and the requirements of listening to a customer’s needs. That’s the foundation of putting a music system together.”

Fraser describes LTNF as a natural extension of the same disciplined thinking:
“Lowering the noise floor was the start point for us because we already have a unique disciplined approach to improving any hi-fi, not just buying a product… putting a good hi-fi system together — it’s about knowledge and about putting a recipe of things together, and an extension of that is LTNF, because it further refines finding the right combinations.”
In practice, that means structured training and an assessed standard, so every Accredited Partner can apply LTNF principles electrically, mechanically and acoustically, bringing the same rigour to system setup in a customer’s own home.

Fraser is candid about where the idea came from — the observation that many dealers, from the outside at least, don’t appear to add much value, leaving customers to simply shop around on price. The programme is our answer to that:

An Airt LTNF Accredited Partner is more than simply a hi-fi retailer.
Our accredited partners have undergone specialist training with the Airt Audio team in the principles of Lowering the Noise Floor (LTNF) and the technologies used to achieve it. They understand that exceptional sound isn’t created by individual products alone, but by ensuring every element of a system works together in harmony.

What Does Accreditation Mean?
Our accredited partners are trained in the three fundamental approaches to Lowering the Noise Floor:
Electrical optimisation – reducing unwanted electrical noise and interference through effective grounding and electromagnetic control.
Mechanical isolation – controlling vibration that can negatively affect the performance of sensitive audio equipment.
Acoustic optimisation – understanding how room acoustics influence what you hear and how they can be improved.
Alongside these core LTNF principles, partners receive extensive product training across the specialist brands we represent, giving them both a deep understanding of and real world experience with the equipment they carry.
Accreditation is not a one-off achievement. Our partners receive ongoing training, technical support and product updates, ensuring they remain at the forefront of system optimisation.
Levels of Accreditation
Accredited Partner
An Airt Accredited Partner has successfully completed Airt’s core Lowering the Noise Floor training programme and demonstrated a thorough understanding of the principles behind electrical grounding, mechanical isolation and system optimisation.
These partners are trained in specialist technologies from brands including Entreq and Stillpoints, enabling them to demonstrate how reducing unwanted electrical noise and mechanical vibration can significantly improve musical performance.
Accredited Specialist
In addition to training in electrical and mechanical LTNF principles, Specialist Partners also receive training in acoustic room optimisation using Acustica Applicata products. This specialist training gives our partners a deep understanding of the relationship between loudspeakers, room acoustics and listening position and how to treat a space through comprehensive room mapping and treatment placement to create a listening room that quite simply disappears.
Specialist partners demonstration facilities are designed to showcase not only exceptional equipment, but also the impact that properly controlled acoustics can have on a high-performance audio system.
For customers seeking the highest level of system optimisation, an Accredited Specialist Partner offers a deeper level of knowledge and experience across a broader spectrum of the LTNF discipline.
Accredited Room
Our highest level of accreditation recognises retailers with listening rooms that are dedicated to LTNF principles.
These listening rooms feature permanent acoustic optimisation based on the principles of LTNF, creating an environment where every component can perform as intended. These are destination rooms that we believe showcase to the fullest extent what is possible when LTNF principles are adhered to completely. We encourage you to experience and Accredited Room because they are a pinnacle listening experience. You will not hear anything better.
An Airt Accredited Room allows visitors to experience complete system synergy — where grounding, vibration control, acoustics and carefully matched components work together to reveal the full musical performance.
